AME Engage courses provide assessments in the form of quizzes and post-class homework. Our instructional design team can also assist in creating custom tests and exams if necessary. However, if you wish to create your own assessments in AME Engage, the following instructions will show you how.

Turn on Edit Mode:
Click the "Edit mode" button located at the top right corner of the course page.
Choose the Section:
Scroll to the section where you want to add the assessment.
Add an Activity or Resource:
At the bottom of the chosen section, click on the "+" to add an activity or resource link.
Select the Quiz Option:
From the list of activities, select "Quiz" and click "Add."
Configure the Quiz Settings:
Name: Enter a name for your assessment.
Description: Provide a brief description or instructions for the students.
Timing: Set the open and close times for the quiz, as well as the time limit if applicable.
Grade: Configure the grading options, including grade category and attempts allowed.
Layout: Choose how many questions appear on each page.
Question Behavior: Select how questions behave (e.g., shuffle within questions, feedback).
Review Options: Choose when and what students can review after the quiz.
Add Questions:
You have the choice of creating your own question to add, adding a specific question from our question bank, or adding a random question from our question bank.
The online post-class homework questions refer back to the student workbook by chapter and AP number. An exact question represents one which is exactly the same as the workbook. A random or similar question represents one that has different values and names from the version in the workbook.
To add a question to the assessment, follow the steps below.
Click the Add drop-down at the location you want to add a question.
Select from question bank (static questions) or a random question from the list.
Note: You will have to wait for the question bank categories to load. It can take up to 15 seconds.
In the pop-up window, select the question category from which you want to pull random questions. The category is organize by exam questions, homework questions, practice questions and quiz questions.
Once you selected the type of questions, make sure to click the Apply filters.
You will see a preview of the type of questions it will be added and you can view the actual questions if your click on the magnifying glass icon.
You can also see the answers by clicking on the Fill in correct responses button.
To go back to previous page, just click on the Close preview button.
Enter the number of random questions you want to add to the quiz. For example, if you want 5 random questions, select "5" in the field provided.
The system will automatically choose the specified number of random questions from the selected category.
Make sure to Input the grade values for each question by clicking the pencil icon beside the grade number.
Type in a new value and press Enter on the keyboard.
Set the maximum grade for the assessment and click on the Save button.
Publish the Assessment:
Ensure the quiz is visible to students by checking the "Show" option in the quiz settings.
If you’re ready for students to access the quiz, make sure the open date is correctly set.
